Eilat's numerous coffee shops vary from the most elegant to the popular; some of them staying open from late morning until well into the night.
The more prestigious coffee shops are situated inside the hotels. Every large hotel has its own lobby and bar; most of these are also open to you even if you are not a guest at the hotel.
In highseason, some hotels prohibit those not residing there from coming into their public area, in order to prevent overcrowding and to enable hotel guests to get their money's worth.
However, most of the coffee shops which do not belong to hotels are located in central areas - the tourist centre, the Pninat Eilat centre, and the shopping centers. The advantage they hold is that they are open and look out on the world around them, so that as you enjoy your cup of coffee or cold drink, you can watch the colourful procession of the passers-by.
